CASE STUDY
Multi-Stakeholder Collaborative
SITUATION
-
Despite being home to world renowned healthcare institutions, the Philadelphia County was the lowest performing county in Pennsylvania with respect to health outcomes for its population
-
Health industry leaders across Philadelphia recognized that to transform health outcomes in a sustainable way, a multi-stakeholder collaborative had to be formed to develop innovative population health solutions

ACTION
-
We led a team of consultants in preparing for and hosting workshops to convene public, private, and government leaders in defining what collaborative health innovation could look like in Philadelphia
-
Several workshops were held in addition to 1:1 stakeholder meetings and a community survey to inform the shared vision, partnership structure, and collective investment model for the collaborative
RESULTS
After the final workshop, stakeholders were guided in making two primary decisions:
-
A consensus decision to go forward with a clearly articulated pilot and modest investment from each stakeholder
-
A straw-man definition of the multi-stakeholder collaboration model to be used moving forward
